Residency (Oslo): Agnė Jokšė and Kristiina Mäenpää

Institutional Reimagining, a collaborative project by PRAKSIS, Index, PUBLICS, Simian and Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA), welcomes Agnė Jokšė (LT) and Kristiina Mäenpää (FI) as its first residents hosted at PRAKSIS. The artists will be at work in Oslo from late summer until 15 September 2026 exploring questions of support structures, cohabitation, home and domesticity.
Jokšė is a Lithuanian artist and writer whose work explores intimacy, queerness, language and relational histories via video, text and performance. From Finland, Mäenpää is a visual artist who uses installation, sculpture and photography to probe relationships between artworks, exhibition spaces and the physical and temporal properties of materials.
Part of PRAKSIS’s tenth-anniversary year programming, this residency continues the organisation's mission via a new format: bringing two practitioners into sustained dialogue through areas of shared interest.
Institutional Reimagining tests how small and mid-sized arts organisations can work as a distributed institution. As part of this, the residency offers a supportive space for research and development in relation to early directions for Survival Kit Festival 2027. Survival Kit is organised by LCCA and in 2027 is curated by Paul O’Neill with PUBLICS, Helsinki.
