Opening Doors is a three-month residency at PRAKSIS, Oslo inviting two artists: Sabīne Šnē and Anastasia (A) Alevtin whose research and practice embrace exchange, public dialogue and engagement with young people.

In the course of the residency, they will have the opportunity to work both independently and in dialogue with one another. They are also invited to participate in a wider conversation about the ways cultural institutions envisage and communicate with their publics, and the contributions young people can make towards the broadening of access to cultural experience and production.

The artists will be at work in Oslo from 16 September to 16 December 2026 exploring access, language, learning and institutional change.

Sabīne Šnē is a Latvian visual artist and educator whose practice explores relationships between humans and the more-than-human. Anastasia (A) Alevtin is a Helsinki-based transdisciplinary artist and researcher who reads, scripts, records, screens, performs, programs, and publishes for more liveable, queercrip and migrant/migratised, ordinary worlds.

Part of PRAKSIS’s tenth-anniversary year programming, this residency continues the organisation's mission via a new format: bringing two practitioners into sustained dialogue through areas of shared interest.

The residency connects with PRAKSIS Teen Advisory Board and the project Opening Doors, which develops youth-led methods for investigating and improving cultural access. The programme asks how young people experience cultural institutions, what barriers they encounter, and how their perspectives can inform real institutional change.

The residency is supported by Nordic Culture Point.
