Reaching Out
From 2023 to 2026, PRAKSIS Teen Advisory Board worked with sister youth boards at Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation in Stockholm and PUBLICS in Helsinki on Future Futures: Reaching Out, a three-year Erasmus+ project exploring how art institutions communicate with publics.
Each year, the boards focused on a different format used by artists and institutions to share ideas: audio, moving image and publishing. Through workshops, institutional visits, conversations with artists and cultural workers, and transnational meetings in Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki, the participants examined how these formats can be used to reach young people and wider audiences.
The project resulted in podcasts and audio works, the filmed Future Futures Talk Show: Through the Lens, the publication Reaching Out: A Book about Agency, Care, Identity, and…, and a series of public launches, screenings and related exhibition projects.

Timeline
In 2025–2026, PTAB focused on publishing in the arts, looking at books, magazines, pamphlets and newspapers, both online and in print, as artistic media and formats for communication. This work contributed to the final publication, developed together with Index Teen Advisory Board, PUBLICS Youth Advisory Board, editor Gerrie van Noord, designer Tuukka Kaila and publisher Rooftop Press.

In 2024–2025, the focus was on video and film, from vlogs and advertisements to video guides, artworks and other moving-image formats. The boards met with artists and institutions while developing their own responses to the question: how might institutions use video and film to reach young people?

In 2023–2024, the focus was on audio. PTAB explored sound art, podcasts, radio, interviews and listening as ways of communicating art and creating access. The year resulted in the podcast series Are You Listening? PRAKSIS Teen Advisory Board explores sound in art.
